Rotary Affiliated Projects

Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties Signature Projects

The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counites have made great efforts to improve the lives of people in both Greene and Putnam Counties. Our Signature Projects are perfect examples of how we continue to support our communities and help those in need.

Books 4 Kids

Every month we provide age-appropriate books to children ages ten and younger in Second Harvest families and in Victory Train families. To date, more than 450 books have been distributed to children ages ten and younger.

Shoes 4 Kids

Twice per year, we take 75 underprivileged local kids to Augusta and let them select a pair of shoes, socks, and a backpack which Rotary buys for them. Over the last five years we have “shoed” close to 750 local kids from low-income families.

We arrange for approximately 200 Greene and Putnam County elementary school children from low-income families to take home food (aka backpack meals) every Friday during the school year to ensure that they have adequate nutrition over the weekend.

Pets Love Vets

We have placed over 135 pets in the homes of local veterans with all adoption fees paid for by Rotary—and the placement numbers continue to grow!

In Greene County we continue to provide food for those in need—about 200 families and 10,000 to 15,000 pounds every month.

Student Scholarships

We award five $1,000 college scholarships to students from the five local high schools every year.

Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly (RYLA)

Annually, we fund six scholarships to a weekend leadership camp for Georgia youths including motivational speakers and team building events.
